Kids Decorative Arts

In conjunction with 'Let's Celebrate Culture' Week at Northland. Islamic Museum Australia will be running decorative art workshops across the school holidays! From water marbling, ceramic tile painting and mosaic workshops. Activities will be located near Pandora. Open to ages 5-10.

Turkish Paper Marbling

3rd July, 11am – 3pm

Immerse yourself in the Turkish art of water marbling! Using traditional techniques and colours, you will be guided on how to blend and fuse colours to create intricate patterns and take home your very own water-marbling print inspired by traditional Turkish Ebru art. 

Ceramic Tiling

4th July, 11am – 3pm

Fuse the disciplines of art and mathematics to paint your very own 20cm x 20cm ceramic tile - this activity is a great opportunity to learn more about geometric designs and patterns, choose from a wide range of stencils, pains and patterns to create your very own Ottoman inspired tile to take home! 

 Mosaic Box Decorating

5th July, 11am – 3pm

This hands-on activity is a perfect opportunity to creatively decorate and take home your very own keepsake box! Choose from a range of decorative stencils to paint intricate geometric patterns, or bejewel your box with a selection of colourful mosaic tiles. 

Please ensure your child is wearing appropriate clothing, as art smocks will not be provided.
